Family Time
Family Time services provided by Shiloh House include a parenting assessment which highlights strengths, needs, and risks of each parent. The results of the parenting assessment are used to guide the Family Support Professional in designing a service plan to provide the level of support and supervision needed by the parent. Family Time includes feedback and interventions by the Family Support Professional during the visit to role model and assist the family in developing improved parenting skills. The primary purpose of the Family support Professional is to ensure the safety of the child and strengthen the protective capacity of parents.
Office, Community or In-Home Family Time
Family time may occur in a Shiloh Office or approved community-based locations such as parks, libraries, restaurants, museums and many other approved and appropriate locations, including the client's home. This flexibility allows families to meet in environments that promote bonding and child development. The decision to provide community based, supervised family time is determined by feedback from the multidisciplinary team. All parties in attendance for visits must be pre-approved by the multi-disciplinary team. The family support professional will meet with the visiting parent 15 minutes before and after each visit to discuss goals and provide feedback, making it easier for parents to identify progress and areas for continued support or growth.
