At Shiloh House, we’ve had amazing experiences connecting furry friends with the youth we serve.

There is something so special about befriending a dog, and Denver Pet Partners has been able to make that happen for many of our youth. Tyson and his owner Adrienne have been consistently visiting one of Shiloh House’s locations for three months, and have already made meaningful memories within that time.

Most recently, a young girl named Jenny was staying with us at Shiloh House and was having a hard time being separated from her dogs. She was timid and worried that spending time with another dog would only make her miss her dogs more, but when Tyson rolled onto his back with his feet flopped in the air Jenny couldn’t stay away!

Tyson was instantly interested in Jenny; he kept kissing her and hugging her by putting his head on her shoulder. This made her smile from ear to ear. She said, “Tyson knows I miss my dogs and he’s trying to make me feel better.” Tyson stayed with Jenny the whole visit and kept sitting next to her (and even tried crawling in her lap!) and she smiled, laughed and gave him lots of pets in return. Tyson was able to make a connection with Jenny and has brought both happiness and healing to the youth we serve. We are so grateful!
