Meet Kevin! Kevin is our Chief Officer of Residential and Educational Services. Kevin has worked at Shiloh House for the past 25 years, playing several different roles within our agency while simultaneously achieving many academic accomplishments.

“When I started, I was hired at the Littleton school to be the PE teacher. I immediately fell in love with the population that we served and found that positive experiential learning experiences had a huge impact on the youth we were serving. I had the opportunity to help start the outdoor program in which we took youth into the mountains where we would do hiking trips, fishing, team building activities, outdoor education, and camping trips.”

“As time went on, I started taking a leadership role in the education department and eventually became the Education Manager, as I received my Masters degree in Education Administration and received my principal license. This was soon followed by the promotion to Education Director, and then I went back to school yet again to get my credentials as a Director of Special Education. During these years and transitions to different roles, I became more involved working with Shiloh House administration and the opening of new programs in Adams county, Longmont, the Sanctuary in Thornton, and the FRP in Centennial–eventually moving to an executive role with the Chief team overseeing the residential and education departments.”

“I also really have enjoyed the opportunities to work closely with the Department of Education and have and continue to serve on several work groups and committees at the state level. Over the years, I have enjoyed working with school district administrations, and state and county Departments of Human Services. Our services are so important and necessary for our community as the mental health needs of our young people continue to grow. We provide an opportunity and platform for youth to experience success while working on improving their social emotional well being and addressing previous traumas. With the current state of child welfare in Colorado, we are an important partner to many of our county department of human services and have the ability to serve and help hundreds of youth and families each year.”

Over the last 25 years of hard work and dedication, his motivation to keep improving was clear. “First and foremost [are] the kids, seeing the support, guidance, and delivery of services they received and the resulting growth of thousands of youth is the most rewarding. Next would be the staff, the leadership and the team aspect of Shiloh. I have made many lifelong friends and worked with some amazing people which I have learned from and worked side by side with through the ups and downs during my time at Shiloh.”

Kevin perfectly demonstrates one of the Shiloh House core values, excellence. His drive to further his education to better serve our youth is admirable. It takes dedicated people like Kevin to make a difference in our community, and we are lucky to have him on our team.
