Shiloh House Safe to Return to School Plan
Plan for Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services
- Shiloh Academy reopened for 100% in person learning on 8/17/20 for all grades levels if desired.
- Parents/Guardians/Caregivers will have the option to choose in person or remote learning and all families have been sent a survey to determine preference. 3. Shiloh is dedicated to maintaining a safe and clean environment for our students and our staff. Below you will find the safety precautions and regulations we have put into place to ensure that we are providing the safest environment possible. We will address meeting the needs of your student in the following three domains; public health, academics and social emotional learning.
- Shiloh will review its safe return to in-person instruction every 6 months or sooner if necessary.
- All decisions regarding Covid-19 are made by our internal Covid-19 committee. The committee meets weekly to review Covid-19 related matters and new public health guidelines.
- Shiloh House’s board reviews policies regarding Covid-19 quarterly.
Academics:
Our teachers will continue to diagnose student learning needs and address any academic slide that may have happened since mid-March utilizing the iReady Diagnostic and WRAT V assessments. Shiloh will continue to address individual learning needs, credit recovery and graduation planning. In a situation where students at a school, or schools, would need to switch to remote/online learning due to an outbreak of the virus, teachers will be prepared with tools and training to ensure a seamless transition.
Social Emotional Learning:
Shiloh remains dedicated to providing the individual attention and support that your student needs while practicing our trauma informed care and positive behavior interventions and supports models. Your student will have access to a variety of staff to help meet their needs throughout the day as well as their clinician and regularly scheduled therapy appointments.
Layered Prevention Strategies
- Shiloh House promotes and requires staff vaccination or weekly testing which is in line with state and federal mandates.
- Shiloh policy is that staff are required to wear masks at all times and have signage at each facility on correct mask use.
- Each campus will have a daily check-in process for each student, staff or visitor which will include the following:
- Symptom check and COVID screening documentation
- Temperature check (100.4 temp is sent home)
- Regular school check in and contraband check
- Shiloh House sprays all our school programs and all Shiloh buildings every 30 days with Enviroshield. This has been certified by the CDC to not only create a barrier for germs, fungi, and viruses but has now also been proven to kill COVID-19.
- Classrooms are set up to promote physical distancing as much as possible. 9. Staff have or will be provided with free rapid test and free community testing sites. 10. Ventilation upgrades have been made to our buildings that required newer systems. 11. Hand washing and respiratory signs are visible and posted throughout the school setting. 12. Students are highly encouraged to wear masks.
- Contact tracing is done immediately by a member of the Covid-19 committee once there is a confirmed positive Covid-19 case.
- In the event that a student or staff member becomes ill or displays symptoms they will be immediately isolated and sent home and notifications will be made to all relevant parties. Implementation of safety measures will be taken based off of the guidance of the local department of public health.
- In the event of confirmation of a positive COVID case Shiloh House will immediately contact the local health department, Colorado Department of Human Services, home school districts, and notifications will be made to all youth and families. Safety measures will be taken based off of the guidance of the local department of public health.
- If one or more positive COVID-19 test occurs the campus will switch to remote learning for a minimum of 10 days.
- Shiloh will continue to follow the directions and recommendations of the CDC and our local health departments and will remain in compliance with all other State or local orders. If orders for a stay at home are issued our day treatment programming will immediately switch to a remote learning platform. In a situation where students at a school, or schools, would need to switch to remote/online learning due to an outbreak of the virus, teachers will be prepared with tools and training to ensure a seamless transition.
- Shiloh House Administration continues to remain current on guidelines provided by CDHS, Tri-County Health Department, CDC, WHO, CDPHE, Governor Polis, Federal Leadership, CDE and CAFCA.
