Human Resources Coordinator Position Summary: The HR Coordinator supports administrative tasks and responsibilities within the HR team with an emphasis on benefits, workers’ compensation, leaves of absences (FMLA/ADA) and unemployment insurance support. This is an on site and in person position based out of Littleton, CO.

Compensation: In accordance  with the Colorado Equal Pay for  Equal Work Act, the expected salary  range for this Colorado position is  between $62,000 – $67,000 per year.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job related  factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities & Duties include:

  • The Human Resources Coordinator will work closely with the Human Resources Manager and Specialist regarding all HR endeavors.
  • The employee will support the HR Manager in educating employees on and enforcing company policies.
  • The employee will organize, maintain and update employee HRIS information as needed.
  • The employee will act as the primary point of contact for incoming agency calls, which will include efficiently managing inquiries, transferring calls to the appropriate departments, and providing exceptional customer service to external entities and internal parties.
  • The employee will assist in management of the HR email, Worker’s Compensation, UI cases, FMLA/ADA Accommodation Interactive Process, etc.
  • The employee will be cross trained on essential HR department tasks and will be responsible for filling in for other employees in their absence, including filling in for Policies and Procedures Orientation training for new hires and assisting with the recruitment and offer process for qualified candidates.
  • The employee will assist with conducting reference checks, Colorado arrest records, and background checks for applicants/employees, on an ongoing basis.
  • The employee will create personnel files for all new employees an ongoing basis.
  • The employee will assist in the organization of seasonal activities/promotions, on an as needed basis.
  • The employee will execute all employee termination/exit procedures, including advising employees on their rights and any benefits they are entitled to.
  • The employee will support the HR Manager with HR related projects on an ongoing basis which includes but is not limited to: recruiting, on-boarding, training, job posts, orientation, employee relations, policies and procedures, compensation, benefits, rewards and recognition, HRIS, unemployment, statistical reporting, maintaining and updating HR trackers, maintaining job descriptions, maintaining correspondence with employees and public entities, and assisting with onboarding/exit/change of position/promotion processes.
  • The employee will assist the HR Manager in tracking and monitoring insurance benefit eligibility for all new employees, on an ongoing basis.
  • The employee will assist with executing routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • The employee will assist with overseeing employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • The employee will maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices, review policies and practices to maintain compliance with the assistance of the Employers Council and agency legal council.
  • The employee will assist with verification of employment.
  • The employee will assist with monitoring leaves of absence, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, ADA accommodations, and anything else assigned by the supervisor.
  • The employee will assist with updating procedure sheets and personnel documents, on an ongoing basis.
  • The employee will assist the Business/Finance department with various projects, including but not limited to payroll, benefits, training reimbursements/promissory notes, resignations, workers comp time off, wages, etc.

Requirements:

  •  A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field with 1 year of HR experience or 3 years of HR experience is required
  • General clerical experience is required
  • Must have exceptional written/verbal communication skills and computer/technological skills, including experience in programs such as Google Applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to write and type with minimal spelling and grammatical errors
  • Must be highly organized, able to multi-task and prioritize workload quickly
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments accurately with frequent interruptions and must be able to work independently within highly structured processes and timelines
  • Must have the ability to fulfill job duties and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information
  • Must posses the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be flexible, and adjust priorities as needed
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient with HRIS software.
  • Must have timely and regular attendance and punctuality
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a background check
